Prime Minister visits Khulna from Tungipara

Dhaka, Jan 7: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina went to Khulna from Tungipara in Gopalganj on Friday. She left for Khulna by road on the first day of his two-day personal visit on Friday at 2 pm. Later, crossing Khanjahan Ali Bridge (Rupsa Bridge) and reaching Dighlia Ghat by taking Aranghata Bypass.

Prime Minister returned to Tungipara by road after completing all personal programmes in Khulna. After returning from Khulna, the Prime Minister and her family members spent the night at Tungipara on Friday.

On the occasion of the Prime Minister's arrival, the entire Khulna was cordoned off by security forces. However, she did not participate in any political activities during her visit to Khulna. The Prime Minister's visit to Khulna brought happiness among the leaders, activists and common people there.

The Prime Minister last visited Khulna on March 3, 2018, to attend a public meeting of the Awami League.

Before this, the Prime Minister's convoy left for Tungipara by road from Dhaka after 8 am on Friday. The Prime Minister reached Tungipara at 10:55 am. Then she paid her respects at the tomb of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in Tungipara and stood there silently for a while. Prime Minister's younger sister Sheikh Rehana and other family members were present at the time. Later, the Prime Minister participated in a special prayer seeking forgiveness for the souls of the deceased family members.

This is the first visit of the Awami League President and Prime Minister to Tungipara after being elected Awami League President for the tenth consecutive time.
