Obaidul Quader made this comment in the president's speech at the joint meeting held with the presidents and editors of the affiliated organizations of the party at the central office of Awami League on Bangabandhu Avenue on Saturday.

General secretary of Awami League said, such journalism on the day of independence is a criminal offence. Prothom Alo is working to protect the interests of special groups. Awami League government is popular with the countrymen. People have kept this government in power for three consecutive terms. But Prothom Alo is trying to belittle Bangladesh in the world court to discredit the popular government.

He said Prothom Alo tried to negate the purpose of the great liberation war by setting special agenda on special days and working for the interests of special groups. Apart from this, Prothom Alo is trying to alienate the people by implementing its agenda. But the people of the country will not let it succeed. Conspiracy will be brought under the law, no one is above the law.

Obaidul Quader said, the time has come to think whether the news quoted a day laborer in the language, is it the speech of an ordinary day laborer, or the speech given by Prothom Alo. The editor of the newspaper cannot avoid the responsibility of reporting the news with wrong information. But the newspaper showed extreme arrogance without apologizing. Trying to incite the younger generation.

He said, this initiative of Prothom Alo on Independence Day, which was achieved in exchange for the sacrifice of 3 million martyrs, loss of honor of millions of mothers and sisters, is it not an act of ethnic annihilation? Independence Day is a unique day to instill patriotism and patriotism in the young generation. However, for the purpose of politically selected special agenda setting on this day, that news is not a denial of the great liberation war and the ideal achievement of the liberation war?

Awami League General Secretary said, we have seen in every country of the world - on the day of independence, the media of that country encourages with inspirational messages. And Prothom Alo is trying to frustrate and provoke the young generation by presenting false news to the nation to implement their master's conspiracy.
