Dhaka, April 10: Prime Minister and Leader of Parliament Sheikh Hasina said, Prothom Alo newspaper is enemy of Awami League, enemy of democracy, enemy of the people of the country. She said this while participating in the discussion on the motion of thanks under Rule 147 of the Rules of Procedure brought by the Prime Minister on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Parliament in the Jatiya Sangsad on Monday.

Sheikh Hasina said, "Making a child lie, asking for freedom of rice and meat. Telling a seven-year-old child, handing over ten taka to the individual and recording the statement and publishing it is a reputable newspaper. Their name is Prothom Alo (first light), but they live in the dark. Prothom Alo is the enemy of Awami League, the enemy of democracy, Prothom Alo is the enemy of the people of the country."

She said, "I say with great sadness that they never want to allow this country to be stable. In 2007, when the Emergency happened, they were happy. Two newspapers chased it. They were accompanied by a usurer [Dr. Muhammad Yunus]."

The Prime Minister said, "He invests in America. America never once asks that Grameen Bank, it is a statutory institution. The MD used to collect government salaries. From where did he get millions of dollars, who does social business, invests in places like America. In the country- Where does the money for these foreign investments come from? Has it ever asked him? It hasn't. The sad thing is that they have to hear corruption. We have to hear about humanity from America."

"Those who suck the blood of the poor, those who steal the money of the poor and become owners of hundreds of millions and get international awards, these people try to destroy the democracy of this country, and play with the fate of people," she added.

The Prime Minister said, while detractors say Awami League government came and did nothing, she described the comparative picture of the development during the period of Awami League government and during the period of BNP.
