Own Correspondent, Dhaka, 16 October 2023: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said, "We are serving the people. We don't care who belongs to which party is in this matter. We are serving everyone. The BNP-Jamaat, including Khaleda Zia, have poverty of thought. Due to which they are suffering from mental poverty. They can't think of anything better."

She said to the doctors, "You are not only providing medical care, but giving a person a chance to see, it is a big job."

She said this while inaugurating the 'Community Eye Center' established in 65 upazila health complexes of the country through video conferencing from Ganabhaban on Monday.

The Prime Minister said, "We are making arrangements so that there is no negligence in the field of treatment. In particular, we are doing this work. We are providing treatment to the blind. We are serving people to eliminate blindness all over Bangladesh. We have reduced the rate of blindness by 35 percent. We are working to reduce it further."

She said, 2 million people have received treatment from community eye centers.

Calling for cost-effective use of electricity and water, she said, "There are many places where water is scarce. If we are cost-effective in use, we can export the surplus. We give a lot of subsidies for power generation. It will also be cost-effective. Besides, make sure that everything in the river canal bill is pollution-free. Keep it. Keep drainage system in any project design. Keep reservoir."

Sheikh Hasina said, "We have developed in all areas including the needs of people's lives, food, clothing, housing and medical care, as well as road communication since 2009. We have been able to do these things because you voted for the boat symbol. I thank everyone for this."
