Public Transport Public transport to operate inside city from today
Dhaka, May 6: The Dhaka Road Transport Owners Association has announced to run public transport in all district cities including Dhaka metropolis from Thursday (May 6) morning. On Wednesday night (May 5), Khandaker Enayet, general secretary of the association, said, "As per the decision of the government, public transport will run inside all district cities, including Dhaka metropolis, from Thursday (May 6) morning in compliance with health rules."
Khandaker Enayet said, "Owners of all routes operating in Dhaka metropolis have been instructed to follow certain instructions and the leaders of transport companies have been instructed to do so."
The instructions are:
No passenger can get in the car without a mask.
Vehicle staff must be provided with a mask by the vehicle owner.
The car has to carry half the seats. That means one passenger will sit in every two seats.
Owners and workers are living inhumane lives in the lockdown. In this case, the route owner will not be able to collect any money from the vehicle in the name of GP (gate pass) of the association or transport company.
