Own Correspondent, Dhaka, 20 October 2023: Durga Puja begins on Friday. The work of making idols for the main occasion of the puja is almost over. Artists are decorating Goddess Durga with the last scraps of tuli. Apart from this, the idol's saree, crown, conch vermilion are being installed. The idol will reach the temple from tomorrow. On the occasion of the puja, the work of making the pandal of the temple is going on in Oligli of the capital.

Various points of Shankharibazar, Laxmibazar, Banglabazar, Shingtola, Paridas Road of the capital are preparing for Puja celebrations. The stage for keeping the idol is made of bamboo. Lighting is being done from one lane to another. On the other hand, idol artists are also busy a day before the puja. I went to the ground and saw that the work of making the idol is finished. Idol artists are putting the finishing touches on Goddess Durga, Varun Swaraswati, Karthik, Ganesha, Lakshmi. After mixing the sweetness of the heart and decorating it, the saree is wrapped around the idol. They are giving full appearance by wearing branches, vermilion, crowns.

Pal says that we are satisfied only after the work is done. Since the chariot journey, I have worked day and night. Got 12 work orders this year. All will be reached by now. In between I have done another work of Rangpur Kali temple. As costs increase, profits decrease. I will pay the wages of the workers and send them off tomorrow.

From today, extra security arrangements have been made at every spot in Old Dhaka. We will have our team at every puja mandap in Old Dhaka. They will be on constant guard.
