Punishment for not following hygiene rules is song-poetry-acting

Dhaka, May 10: Police have launched a special operation in Chandraghona area of Rangunia upazila of Chittagong to ensure health of the people. During the operation, hygiene violators were arrested and given free masks, as well as punished with songs, poems, performances and speeches. This is basically an attempt to create awareness about the coronavirus disease.

The day-long operation was conducted on Sunday (May 9) under the leadership of Chittagong Assistant Superintendent of Police (Rangunia, Raozan Circle) Md Anwar Hossain Shamim. According to police sources, 10-12 policemen led by Circle ASP started searching the vehicles plying on the road from Lichubagan and Dobhashi Bazar in Chandraghona from noon onwards.

During the search, only those who were found without masks were detained. Besides, pedestrians and locals who were not following the hygiene rules were also detained. At this time, operations were conducted in the market and shopping malls.

After being detained during the operation, Corona took part in the awareness program through songs, poems, performances and present speeches at the request of the ASP. Later, they were released from the police with a bond that would never break the hygiene rules.

When asked, ASP Anwar Hossain Shamim said, "We are basically working to make everyone aware of the dangers of coronavirus." The main purpose of songs, poems, acting is also to create an awareness among everyone. We have also been urging people throughout the day to adhere to hygiene rules.

The police official also warned that stricter measures would be taken against violators in the future.
