Qatar: Sheikh Hasina gives seven messages to future leaders

Dhaka, 23 May 2023 : Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina gave seven suggestions to Qatar University students to become future leaders. He gave this advice in the light of his life experience.

The Prime Minister attended an event at Qatar University's Research Complex Auditorium on Tuesday (May 23) noon. There he said to the students, I would like to highlight some suggestions for future leaders from my life experiences and struggles.

Sheikh Hasina's seven suggestions are: 1. The leader must have values, 2. Must stick to the goal, 3. There must be a complete and specific plan to achieve the goal, 4. To lead by example and be a 'change maker' in the society, 5. Trust in the people and the party, 6. Motherhood should be awakened, 7. Embrace the new and the future.

Emphasizing on having goals in life, Sheikh Hasina said that it is very important to have vision and mission in life. And to reach the goal should proceed with confidence. Emphasizing on the acquisition of knowledge, he said, no nation can progress without an educated population. The prime minister said that after taking charge in Bangladesh, his government has given the highest priority to education.

The three-time prime minister highlighted the development in various fields in the past years and progress towards building a developed, prosperous and smart Bangladesh by 2041. He said, we want to build a knowledge-based smart Bangladesh. Smart Bangladesh will have a smart government, smart economy, smart population, smart society and smart human resources.

The Prime Minister highlighted various initiatives of the government in the development of technology. He said, people will be made proficient in using digital devices, so that they can contribute to the fourth industrial revolution.

Regarding facilities in educational institutions of Bangladesh, Sheikh Hasina said, digital labs are being set up in all educational institutions from primary level to higher education. Computer training and incubation centers and hi-tech parks are being set up across the country.

Sheikh Hasina said that the objective of Smart Bangladesh is to use digital devices in all fields including education, health, agriculture, industrial production, business and trade in keeping with the changing world.

The Prime Minister in his speech addressed the students of Qatar University about the struggle for independence of Bangladesh under the leadership of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the achievement of independence in 1971 after 23 years of struggle, Bangabandhu's efforts to rebuild the war-torn country after independence, the death of his family by assassins on August 15, 1975 and the subsequent military rule and 21 years. Then he presented a brief history of Awami League coming back to power.
