Dhaka: Rabindranath Tagore, the world poet, was born on this day in the year 127 BS in the house of Maharshi Debendranath Tagore in the Jorasanke Tagore family.

He was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1913 for his book Gitanjali. Kabir's songs, poems and sayings give immense courage to the people of this region in their struggle for freedom and liberation. Not only in the freedom struggle and liberation war of Bangladesh, but also the works of the poets are always alive. Not only in each of our struggles, the poet's eternal writings have been obsessed with the golden age. His song 'Amar Sonar Bangla / I Love You' is the national anthem of Bangladesh. Many of his songs also inspired him during the liberation war.

Today, the Nobel laureate Bengali poet will be remembered by his countless fans through various programs. Not only the Bengalis of the two Bengalis, but also the Bengali speaking poets of different countries of the world will celebrate the birth anniversary with heartfelt passion and respect. This time the theme of the birth anniversary celebration has been decided - 'Crisis of Humanity and Rabindranath.'

On the occasion of the birth anniversary of world poet Rabindranath Tagore, the government has taken a detailed program at the national level. The main event of the birth anniversary this year will be held at Rabindra Kuthibari in Shilaidaha of Kumarkhali upazila of Kushtia. Speaker of Parliament will be present as the chief guest at the opening ceremony at 2.30 pm today. Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury MP.

State Minister for Culture KM Khalid MP will preside over the function and Simin Hossain Rimi MP, Chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Ministry of Culture will be present as the special guest.

The inaugural program will feature a half-hour cultural program with dance drama by Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy. To mark the birth anniversary of the poet, the Shilpakala Academy has organized a three-day cultural program and exhibition of the poet's paintings and a month-long promotion of the documentary on the poet.

The birth anniversary of the poet will be celebrated with due dignity in Shilaidaha of Kushtia, Shahjadpur of Sirajganj, Patisar of Naogaon and Dakshindihi and Pithabhoge of Khulna. On this occasion, the local administration has organized various programs including Rabindra Mela, discussion on Rabindra and cultural programs.

On the other hand, the Ministry of Culture and Bangla Academy will print memorabilia and posters on the occasion of the birth anniversary of the poet. All the departments and agencies under the Ministry of Culture including Bangla Academy have organized special discussions and cultural programs on the occasion. A program has been organized at Rabindra Sarobar in Dhaka under the supervision of the Executive Director of Kabi Nazrul Institute.
