Rajshahi Rajshahi Gynecologist Dr. Fatema Siddiqa detained
Dhaka, Nov 6: Police have detained Rajshahi gynecologist Dr. Fatema Siddiqa. She was detained from her house in Barabangram area of Rajshahi city.
On Sunday, a police source said, Dr. Fatima Siddiqa is involved with the politics of Jamaat-e-Islami. Jamaat leaders and activists were holding a secret meeting at her house and a raid was conducted. However, no one was found there during the raid. The police officers who participated in the operation did not talk to the journalists.
In this regard, Additional Deputy Police Commissioner of Rajshahi Metropolitan Police (RMP) Jamirul Islam said that Dr. Fatema Siddiqa was not arrested. She was taken to the police station for questioning.
Dr. Fatema Siddiqa has a hospital called Motherland Infertility Center in Lakshmipur of Rajshahi city. She is well known in the district as an obstetrician and gynaecologist. On April 4, the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) arrested Rajshahi Deputy Tax Commissioner Mohibul Islam Bhuiyan while accepting a bribe of Tk 10 lakh from her.
