Accident Reckless Land Cruiser mows down three pedestrians in Khilkhet
Dhaka, Dec 28: Three people were killed when a reckless SUV hit them near Khilkhet footover bridge in Dhaka. Another person named Suman Mia was seriously injured in the accident and he is undergoing treatment in the hospital.
The accident occurred at around 9 pm on on Wednesday (December 27).
Dhaka Medical College Hospital Police Outpost Incharge (Inspector) Md. Bachchu Mia confirmed the casualties.
Khilkhet Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Mosharraf said that at around 9 pm, a reckless Land Cruiser vehicle coming from the direction of the airport hit the island under the footover bridge and ran over the pedestrians standing by. Eight-year-old Yasin died on the spot.

Three people — Yasin's father Suman Mia, Ujjal Pandey and Amrina Haque — were injured in the accident. They were first taken to Kurmitola General Hospital and later shifted to Dhaka Medical for better treatment, where Ujwal Pandey and Amrina Haque died.
The SUV has been seized, but the accused driver could not be arrested. SI Musharraf said that further legal action is under process in this regard.
