Dhaka, December 3: The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has filed a case against 14 people, including the registrar of the Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council (BM&DC), for registering as an MBBS doctor using fake certificates.

On Wednesday (December 2) the ACC deputy director deleted. Selina Akhtar Moni filed the case as a plaintiff. ACC Director (Public Relations) Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya said this.

The case alleges that the accused conspired with each other to commit fraudulent, fraudulent and misleading information by using fake credentials and obtaining and using a registration certificate as an MBBS physician.

The accused in the case are- Mohammad Borhan Uddin, Administrative Officer of Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council and Registrar Md. Jahidul Haque Basunia.

The rest are- Md. Iman Ali, Sudeb Sen, Tanmoy Ahmed, Md. Mahmudul Hasan, Md. Moktar Hossain, Md. Asad Ullah, Md. Kauser, Rahmat Ali, Sheikh Atiyar Rahman, Md. Saiful Islam, Md. Aslam Hossain and Mohammad Masud Parvez.

According to the briefing of the incident, the alleged fake degree holders have passed MBBS from Taishan Medical University in China. They took part in the registration qualifying examination conducted by the Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council on different dates using the fake MBBS certificate of that university.

In this case, they have passed the examination conducted by BM&DC, obtained registration number as a doctor, practiced internship in different medical colleges of the country and are engaged in medical services in different hospitals.

But verification of records shows that their MBBS certificates are fake. According to him, the ACC sends photocopies of the certificates to the Taishan Medical University authorities through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to verify the validity of their MBBS certificates.

In this context, after verifying the certificates through the Bangladesh Embassy in Beijing, China, the Bangladesh Ministry of Foreign Affairs sent a record letter to the ACC on 21-01-2019 in the East Asia and Pacific section.

A review of the records obtained shows that the MBBS certificates of the 12 MBBS degree holders mentioned by the authorities of the School of International Education Taishan Medical University are fake.

The opinions of handwriting experts are taken to test the authenticity of the signatures of the certificates. It also shows that the signatures of various officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs have been forged in the signatures of the charter.

Those 12 fake MBBS holders never studied at Taishan Medical University in China. Some went to China only on tourist visas, there is no evidence in favor of staying in that country.

Meanwhile, the statement said that BM&DC has not followed any precaution or regulation in the verification and selection of certificates.
