Dhaka, March 20: The results of the 41st BCS preliminary examination will be released in the next two months, said Sohrab Hossain, chairman of the Public Service Commission-PSC. Four lakh seventy five thousand job seekers have sat for the BCS.

Preliminary examinations were held simultaneously in eight divisional cities of the country from 10 am to 12 noon on Friday. As the incidence of coronavirus continues to rise, tests have shown strict adherence to hygiene rules, but many centers have failed to comply.

Instructions for washing or sanitizing the hands of the examinees outside the examination hall, keeping the facility of measuring the temperature at the time of entering the hall, and controlling the public were not followed in the various centers.

In this context, Sohrab Hossain said, “The test has been taken following the instructions of the Ministry of Health. One student has been placed in each bench. Each room has seating for 25 people. The examinees have taken part in the examination smoothly. I didn't see any problem. We have tried to make everyone aware by promoting in various ways. You have taken note of the issue of temperature measurement, we will look into the matter."

He said that after the results of the 42nd BCS examination held on February 26, the results of the 41st BCS examination will be released soon.

"We are a little confused. The results of the 42nd BCS could have been given earlier. We will try as soon as possible. Because if we can give the results quickly, the next activities can be started. If we can give the results of the 42nd BCS in the next 15 days, this year's results (41st) I can give it. It can happen earlier."

There was also a demand to postpone the 41st BCS exam as coronavirus infection was on the rise.

"Everything is going on, all over the world," he said, referring to fears of an increase in infections due to testing. But wearing a mask reduces the risk. As a result, there is less chance of infection from the test hall.

The PSC issued the notification of the 41st BCS on November 30 last year to fill the vacancies of various cadres in the government service.

Through this BCS, there are 323 people in the administration cadre and a total of 642 people in the general cadre; A total of 2,166 people including 619 people in professional and technical cadre and 892 people in general education cadre will be recruited.
