Results of SSC, equivalent exams declared

Own representative, Dhaka, December 31:�The results of SSC and equivalent examinations were declared on Thursday. This year, 93.56 percent students passed the SSC exams, which has increased by 10.71 percent as compared to the last year. In 2020, 82.87 percent students passed the SSC exam.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Thursday (December 30) inaugurated the result declaration programme by pressing switch from Ganabhaban. The main event was held at the Bangabandhu International Conference Centre, where she unveiled the results after inaugurating a free book distribution among students.

This year, 22 lakh 27 thousand 113 students appeared in SSC or equivalent exams. The SSC or equivalent exams were held this year in 3,679 centres, and students from 29,035 educational institutes took part in the examination.

After the Prime Minister officially declared the results, the students were able to know their results through the website of the Ministry of Education and via SMS.

The Prime Minister Spoke on the occasion of publishing the results of the examination and distributing free textbooks among the students of different levels in the 2022 academic year. She attended the event via video conferencing.

The Prime Minister said today's students will be the golden people for building Bangabandhu's golden Bangla. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina urged the parents and teachers to pay attention to build them in that way.

She said, "Today is a very important day for every student. New books of the new academic year are being given along with the announcement of results. The joy of getting new books is different. Putting a cover on a new book and writing name on it — it is a different feeling."

Sheikh Hasina said, "We are preparing books for the general students as well as the visually impaired so that they do not lag behind. We are publishing books in the languages of small ethnic groups. So far we have got five of their languages, and we have made books in those languages."

The Prime Minister said the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education have jointly kept the virtual education active during the pandemic.

"More than 34 crore books will be handed over to more than four crore students by January 1, 2022. We have been doing this since 2010," she said.
