Bhola Gang-Rape Robbers throw baby outside window, gang-rape woman, decamp with gold, cash in Bhola
Dhaka, July 8: A 35-year-old woman was allegedly gang-raped by four men who allegedly broke into a house in Bhola Sadar upazila.
However, the miscreants threw her three-month-old baby out of the window before taking turns to rape her.
According to the victim, the four men entered her house in a village in Sadar upazila around 2:30am on Wednesday when the other members of the family were sleeping.
In her complaint she said that the robbers woke her up and demanded the keys of the almirah. The impatient gang allegedly defenestrated her baby daughter into a pond adjacent to the house.
Later they gagged and raped her, before decamping with cash and 10 grams of gold.
A team of police from the Sadar police station rushed to the spot and recovered the baby's body from the pond, after being informed about the incident.
Enayet Hossain, officer-in-charge of Sadar police station, was quoted by Dhaka Tribune as saying: “Four robbers barged into the house and violated the woman. The medical examination of the woman has confirmed rape. The baby's body has been sent to the local hospital morgue for an autopsy."
The police further stated that a rape case has been registered based on a complaint filed by the owner of the property.
"Efforts are also on to identify the perpetrators of the heinous crime," he added.
