ASOCIO Award | Joy Sajeeb Wazed Joy receives ASOCIO Leadership Award
Dhaka, November 13: Prime Minister's ICT Adviser Sajeeb Wazed Joy has received the 'ASOCIO Leadership Award-2021'. He has been given this award as the architect of Digital Bangladesh and for his revolutionary change and contribution in the IT sector of the country.
Earlier, the award was received by the then Prime Minister of Malaysia Dr. Mahathir Mohamad in 1997, former Prime Minister of Thailand Thaksin Shinawatra in 2004 and the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in 2010.
State Minister for Information and Communication Technology Junaid Ahmed Palak received the award on behalf of Joy.
On the second day of the World Congress on Information Technology 2021 (WCIT 2021) World Conference on Information and Communication Technology held in Dhaka on Friday (November 12), the Asian-Oceanian Computing Industry Organization (ASOCIO) gave the award to Joy.
On behalf of ASOCIO Chairman David Wong Nan Fay, immediate past chairman Bunrak Saraggananda handed over the award.
Earlier, Abdullah H. Kafi, former chairman of the association, announced the award at a conference titled 'ASOCIO Award Night'. This award is given by the international organization in recognition of its unique contribution in the field of information technology. The company also rewards government and non-government organizations and initiatives in different countries for their achievements in information technology in various categories.
Receiving the award, State Minister for ICT Junaid Ahmed Palak said, "This award is a recognition of Sajeeb Wazed Joy's hard work, talent and honesty."
"The next generation will be more motivated to work under his leadership. We are very proud to receive this award," he said.
