The period started with his admission in the IA class of the then Islamia College (now Maulana Azad College) in Kolkata and lasted till the partition of India in 1947.

Recently, Indian National Award winning filmmaker Goutam Ghose has started works on a 30-minute documentary titled 'Kolkatay Bangabandhu' (Bangabandhu in Kolkata).

Goutam Ghose told a news conference in the capital Dhaka on May 13 that he had made the scripts of his 'Kolkatay Bangabandhu' documentary basing on 'Bangabandhur Osomapto Atmajiboni' (Bangabandhu's Unfinished Autobiography) and books written by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. He mentioned that there was a lot of writing and research on Bangabandhu's life in Kolkata.

One such book is 'Kolikatay Bangabandhu' (Bangabandhu in Calcutta) written by Dr. SM Sarwar Morshed, a teacher at World University. The book was published on January 1, 2020. In it, he has described the places in Kolkata (then Calcutta) where the memory of Bangabandhu is intertwined with many photographs.

The author of the book, Dr. Sarwar Morshed, said that he had handed over the book to Goutam Ghose. Ghose mentioned the importance of the book and said that he would use its reference in making his documentary.
