Seven Additional IGPs wear rank badges in presence of their wives

Own Correspondent, Dhaka, January 24: Seven police officers have been promoted to the post of Additional Inspector General (IGP). They were given rank badges at the police headquarters on Sunday (January 23) afternoon. The police officers were accompanied by their wives. For the first time in the history of Bangladesh Police, wives of the promoted officers were present at the rank badge wearing ceremony.

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dr. Benazir Ahmed said that people's expectations from the police are skyrocketing. We have to serve the people beyond our expectations. You have been promoted to the highest rank of police by performing your duties with professionalism. You have nothing more to gain from the police force. Now it's time to give. You will now work for the people and the police force.

The IGP also congratulated the promoted officers and their family members. On the other hand, the promoted officials pledged to play a responsible role in tackling any challenge for the welfare of the country and the people.

Promoted officers are- DIG Police Headquarters Abu Hassan Muhammad Tariq, PBI Director (DIG) Banaj Kumar Majumder, Central Police Hospital DIG Dr. Hasan Ul Haider, Special Branch Additional IG (Current Duties) Md. Monirul Islam, Barisal Metropolitan Police Commissioner Md. Shahab Khan, DIG of Industrial Area Police Md. Mahabubur Rahman and DIG of Mymensingh Range Barrister Md. Harun Aur Rashid.

IGP Dr. Benazir Ahmed and Additional IG (A&I) Dr. Md. Moinur Rahman Chowdhury presented rank badges to the promoted officers.

Meanwhile, 'Police Week-2022' has started from Sunday. The five-day event will end on January 27. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the Police Week through the annual police parade at Rajarbagh Police Lines ground at 10 am on the first day of the police week.

This time, 230 police personnel were awarded Bangladesh Police Medal (BPM) and President's Police Medal (PPM) in recognition of their immense bravery and heroic deeds in 2020 and 2021.
