Seven vehicles set on fire in last 24 hours: Fire Service

Dhaka, Dec 12: The fire service said seven vehicles were set on fire in the last 24 hours across the country, including Dhaka. However, no one was injured in these incidents.

Anwarul Islam, warehouse inspector of Fire Service and Civil Defence Headquarters (Media Cell), said, "A total of seven vehicles were set on fire at various places, including five in Dhaka."

He said, "Six buses and a private car were set on fire during this time."

"Incidents of arson took place in Dhaka city, Ashulia and Feni districts," he added.

This fire service official said that 14 units of fire service were engaged in dousing the fire.

According to fire service data, as many as 270 vehicles have been set on fire during the blockade and strike called by BNP and other like-minded opposition parties since October 28. The vehicles include – 168 buses, 44 trucks, 23 covered vans, eight motorcycles and 27 other vehicles.
