Dhaka, April 18, 2021: Panic is growing in India due to the outbreak of multiple viruses including corona which have spread all over the world.

Recently, the number of Bangladeshis going to India for treatment has been increasing. In the last 18 days, the coroners of 18 passengers have been identified in the documents of the Immigration Health Department of the passengers returning from India.

Corona is also being identified by examining the body samples of suspected passengers without RTPCR certificate. Passport holders traveling between the two countries on this route have become quite alarmed by the outbreak of various viruses in the last few years. They are having to eat Himsim to count the extra money repeatedly in Corona test.

It is learned that at present, only Benapole and Petrapole Immigration in India have passport-based passenger travel between the two countries. Immigration activities on other land routes in the country have been temporarily suspended due to the ban imposed by the Indian government. Currently, in the case of travel to India, new visas issued after July last year and a negative corona test certificate from RTPCR within 72 hours of travel are required. About 95 per cent of those traveling on this route are on medical visas, 5 per cent on business, student and diplomatic visas. Passengers are having to spend more than three thousand rupees for double corona test.

Meanwhile, the situation is the same in India as it is in Bangladesh. However, there is no lockdown in West Bengal, India. The number of corona cases among those going to India from Bangladesh has been increasing recently. Corona is also being identified by examining the body samples of the returning passengers. Passengers are quite panicked by the outbreak of one virus after another.

Ariful Islam, a passenger going to India, said that sometimes he has to go to India for treatment. The money for treatment is almost gone. I have become helpless after spending so much money in double test.

Syed Mashiur Rahman, deputy assistant community medical officer of the health department of Benapole Immigration, said passengers were being infected with corona even after going to India. They are being advised to follow the hygiene rules. The Immigration Health Department has issued warnings to prevent the spread of the virus in Corona and Andhra Pradesh.
