Own Correspondent, Dhaka, Sept 28: Awami League Joint General Secretary and Information Minister Dr. Hasan Mahmud said that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is a symbol of the spirit of the liberation war, democracy, development, and progress in Bangladesh.
In the global context, Sheikh Hasina is a symbol of women's awakening, women's progress.
He said that development and progress in all areas of the country have been possible because of the magical leadership of Bangabandhu. Those who say Pakistan was better, have no right to do politics in this country.
He said these at a function organized at the Nalinikant Bhattashali Auditorium of the National Museum at Shahbagh in the capital on Tuesday (September 27). On the occasion of the Prime Minister's 76th birthday, Hasumanir Pathshala has organized a two-day 'Sheikh Hasina Janmotsav'.
He said that there have been 19 attempts to kill Sheikh Hasina. But returning from the valley of death, again and again, she was not disturbed, did not hesitate, did not stop. On the contrary, she has moved forward with the struggle of the people of this country with more courage and more conviction. The democracy of this country has returned under the leadership of Sheikh Hasina. Sheikh Hasina also led the movement that brought down the Ershad government in the 1990s.
Dr. Hasan Mahmud said, today Pakistan looks at us and sighs that Bangladesh has left them behind and advanced far. On the other hand, BNP Secretary General said that Pakistan was good. Those who say Pakistan was good, cannot and should not have any right to do politics in this country.
