Dhaka, June 13: Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has always had a good relationship with West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. They often send each other gifts. The Prime Minister of Bangladesh regularly sends mangoes every year for 'little sister' Mamata. This time was no exception. The mango sent by Sheikh Hasina has already reached Banerjee.

The process of sending mangoes to Nomansland at the import-export gate of Benapole-Petrapole port was completed on Monday at 12 noon. The Ambojhai truck was received from Benapole Port by Kausar Sarwar, Administrative Officer (Accounts) of the Bangladesh Sub-Embassy in Kolkata. The mango consignment was later handed over to the Indian delegation. After that, the gift mangoes reached the chief minister's house at Kalighat via Haridaspur.

The two leaders do not fail to convey that the relationship between Mamata and Sheikh Hasina is above politics. They express their love for each other in various events. Every year, Sheikh Hasina sends various gifts including mango and hilsa to Mamata. The Chief Minister of West Bengal also sends saree gifts to the Prime Minister of Bangladesh on various festivals.

This year, Sheikh Hasina sent 600 kg of mangoes to Mamata. It is known that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has sent a total of 1,200 kg of mangoes in 240 cartons to West Bengal. Half of it went to Chief Minister Mamata's house. The rest of the mangoes have been given to various dignitaries and diplomats, officials and employees of sub-embassies in Kolkata.

The Prime Minister of Bangladesh sent mango gifts not only to West Bengal but also to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Political analysts believe that giving and receiving gifts in this way will strengthen the relationship between the two countries.
