Macron Visit Sheikh Hasina will welcome Macron at the airport
Own correspondent, Dhaka, 6 September 2023: French President Emmanuel Macron is coming to Bangladesh on September 10 after the G-20 conference held in New Delhi, India. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will welcome him at the airport.
According to a press release of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Tuesday, September 5, French President Emmanuel Macron will visit Bangladesh on September 10 at the invitation of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
During the visit, President Macron will pay tribute to the memory of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at Dhanmondi number 32, meet with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at the Prime Minister's Office and attend a banquet organized in honor of the French President. The two leaders are expected to sign bilateral agreements and attend a joint press briefing.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will welcome the President of France at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport and Foreign Minister Dr. AK Abdul Momen is expected to bid him farewell.
Earlier on Monday, a Facebook post of the French Embassy in Dhaka confirmed that President Emmanuel Macron will go to Delhi on September 9 to attend the G-20 summit. From there, he will come to Dhaka on September 10 on a bilateral visit.
Before this, in 1990, the then president of France Francois Mitterrand visited Bangladesh. After that, no other president of the country came to Bangladesh. As a result, it is going to be the visit of a French president to Bangladesh after 1990.
