Sheikh Hasina wins WITSA Eminent Persons Award

Dhaka, November 14, 2021: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been awarded the 'WITSA Eminent Persons Award-2021'.

Sheikh Hasina received the award in recognition of her strong leadership in formulating and implementing the 'Digital Bangladesh' program and her unique contribution to improving the living standards of the people of Bangladesh through the use of information technology. The World Information Technology and Services Alliance, an organization of 70 countries around the world, presented the Olympic Prize for Information Technology, Witsa 2021.

On the third day of the World Congress on Information Technology-2021, the World Conference on Information and Communication Technology held in Dhaka, on Saturday (November 13), Witsa Secretary General Dr. State Minister for Information and Communication Technology Junaid Ahmed Palak received the award on behalf of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina from James H. Pozant.

This time, Witsa has given awards to several organizations from different countries in three categories. Planning Minister MA Mannan, Information and Communication Technology Department Senior Secretary NM Ziaul Alam and BCS President Shahid-ul-Munir were present on the occasion.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been running the government for the longest time in the history of Bangladesh. In addition to taking a strong stand against radicalism, terrorism and militancy, Sheikh Hasina has always ensured food security and the right to vote for every citizen of Bangladesh. He is working tirelessly to ensure the basic rights of the people. During his time, Bangladesh has evolved from a Least Developed Country (LDC) to a developing country. At the same time, the socio-economic development of the country has accelerated due to the capable leadership of Sheikh Hasina.

She has brought pride to Bangladesh by obtaining honorary degrees from various universities around the world and in recognition of her special contribution to ensuring the education of women and girls. He has made Bangladesh famous in the world court by winning the highest environmental award 'Champions of the Earth'.

The Prime Minister was awarded the ICTs in Sustainable Development Award 2015 by the International Telecommunication Union for his special contribution in making information and technology accessible to every region and every citizen of the country.
