Siddique Patwari is Awami League candidate in Natore-4 by-polls

Dhaka, Sept 16: Siddiqur Rahman Patwari has been nominated by Awami League for the by-election in Natore-4 seat.

The decision was taken at the party's nomination board meeting at Ganabhaban on Friday night. Party President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina presided over the meeting. Sheikh Fazlul Karim Salim, presidium member of the party, told reporters after the meeting of the nomination board of Awami League. Siddiqur Rahman Patwari is serving as Health and Population Secretary of Natore District Awami League and the current Chairman of Baraigram Upazila.

In the gazette signed by KM Abdus Satta, Secretary of the Parliament Secretariat on September 3, it is said that the Member of Parliament (MP) of Bangladesh National Parliament Md. Abdul Quddus passed away on 15 Bhadra 1430/30 August 2023 in the morning, 61 Nator-4 seat of the 11th National Parliament became vacant on that date.

Later the election commission announced the schedule. As per the schedule, polling for this seat will be held on October 11. September 17 is the last day to submit nomination papers. Selection of nomination papers on September 18. Appeal against selection of nomination papers filed from 19 to 21 September. The appeal was disposed of on September 23. September 24 is the last day for withdrawal of candidature. And candidates will be allotted symbols on September 25.
