Dhaka, October 15: Acting Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dr Moinur Rahman Chowdhury has said that instructions have been given on how the incidents in Chandpur and Comilla will be decided. The directive was given at a meeting of senior officials on the instructions of the Prime Minister. Extremism has no place in Muslim nationalism. Our social and cultural harmony cannot spoil some people.

He made the remarks at an exchange of greetings with followers of traditional religions at the Dhakeshwari temple in the capital on Thursday (October 14th) evening.

The Acting IGP said that the incident that took place in Comilla and Chandpur has been instructed as to how it will be decided. The work he has done in Comilla is not Hindu or Muslim. He is a criminal. It has been done to implement bad thoughts and plans. Multiple committees have been formed to find out. They will be released soon.

"We have visited different temples. You have no reason to be afraid. There is propaganda on social media about whether there will be puja or not, there should be no doubt about the puja ceremony. We will provide round-the-clock security. Let no doubt be created tomorrow. We have talked to everyone who performs religious rites."

The Acting Chief of Police said, "Today's event is associated with the history of the Bengali nation. Extremism has no place in Muslim nationalism. Some people will not be able to ruin our social and cultural harmony. This similarity will exist as long as the Bengali nation exists."

He said four people were killed in a clash with police in Chandpur. The police have expressed regret for this. Considering the situation, the police officials may have been forced to do so.

On the eve of Bijoya Dashmi, he urged everyone to be vigilant so that no one could commit any misdeeds centered on worship.
