This year's HSC and equivalent examinations have been canceled due to coronavirus epidemic. It has been announced that all the candidates who have filled the form in the 2020 academic year will get autopass. Now the question arises, whether the money will be refunded for filling the examination form or not.

Many student-parents have already demanded a refund for filling out the form.

The Inter-Education Coordinating Board has said that it is not possible to return the money as it has been spent in various sectors.

Several HSC and equivalent examinee-guardians said that the exam has been canceled, so it is necessary to refund the fee collected for the exam. Many will benefit if it is returned.

They said that about two and a half to three thousand rupees has been collected from about 14 lakh candidates across the country. They called on the government to return the money immediately.

According to the Board of Education, in November last year, science students had to pay a fee of Tk 2,500 including center fee and students of humanities and commerce had to pay a fee of Tk 1,940 to fill up the HSC form. Of these, center fee (including practical fee) has been fixed at Rs 605 for science and Rs 445 for humanities and commerce.

The center is asked to discharge other expenses including the honorarium of the tag officer from the fee. But those who have practical issues have to pay another 25 rupees for each letter. In addition, Rs. 25 per letter has been deducted for internal and external examiners for evaluating practical answer sheets.

A regular student has to pay Rs.100 per letter, Rs.25 per practical letter, Rs.50 academic / transcript fee, Rs.100 certificate fee, Rs.15 rover scout / girls guide fee and Rs.5 national education week fee. In fact, many colleges in the capital are charging more than the fees charged by the board. At present the examinees-guardians want the money back.
