Dhaka, March 3, 2024: Legal action will be taken against all those responsible for the tragic fire at Green Cozy Cottage on Bailey Road in the capital, said the Deputy Commissioner of Media and Public Relations of Dhaka Metropolitan Police Md. Farooq Hossain.

He said this during a press briefing at his office on Saturday.

Farooq Hossain said that 46 people have died in the fire at Green Cozy Cottage on Bailey Road in the capital last Thursday. The bodies of 43 of them have been handed over to their families.

The identities of the remaining three have not yet been identified. CID collected DNA samples of these three.

The bodies will be matched with DNA and handed over to relatives who later come looking for the bodies.

If no one comes within the specified time, the bodies will be handed over to Anjuman Mofidul and their DNA samples will be collected.

The Deputy Commissioner of Police said, we have arrested four persons in view of this incident.

We are thoroughly analyzing who is responsible for the death due to this negligence accident, the responsibility of the building owner, or the responsibility of the restaurant owner and manager, where there is negligence, which company was supposed to work here, how they are working. After that, a case will be filed against those who are found liable.
