Own Correspondent, Dhaka, April 28: Awami League General Secretary and Minister for Road Transport and Bridges, Obaidul Quader, has called for taking oath to continue the fight to build a secular Bangladesh under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

He said, "The poison of communalism is still spreading in Bangladesh. The fight must continue under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to save the nation from that poisonous vapor."

Obaidul Quader said this to reporters after paying tributes on behalf of Awami League at the tomb of Sher-e-Bangla AK Fazlul Huq on his 60th death anniversary on Wednesday.

The Minister for Bridges said Sher-e-Bangla AK Fazlul Huq was a non-communal humanitarian leader. Everyone must come forward in the belief of building a non-communal Bangladesh under the leadership of Bangabandhu's daughter Sheikh Hasina.

Earlier, on the occasion of the 60th death anniversary of Fazlul Huq, a tribute was paid by the Awami League under the leadership of Obaidul Quader at the historic Shaheed Suhrawardy Udyan.

Awami League Joint General Secretary AFM Bahauddin Nasim, Cultural Secretary Asim Kumar Ukil, Organizing Secretaries Advocate Afzal Hossain and SM Kamal Hossain, Cultural Secretary Asim Kumar Ukil, Science and Technology Secretary Engineer Abdus Sabur, Labor Affairs Secretary Habibur. Rahman Siraj, Relief and Social Welfare Secretary Faridunnahar Laili, Deputy Secretary Sayem Khan, Central Committee Member Syed Abdul Awal Shamim and others were present there.
