Dhaka, May 29, 2022: The Supreme Court administration has tightened security after clashes between Chhatra Dal and Chhatra League escalated to the Supreme Court premises.

Meanwhile, the entire Supreme Court has been brought under CCTV. Strict restrictions have been imposed on opening and closing of five entrances.

In the interest of security, one entrance is closed all the time, one is open all the time and the rest are scheduled. The decision came after a meeting of the Supreme Court on security on Saturday (May 26th).

Appellate Division Registrar Mohammad Saifur Rahman told the media that the main gate of the Supreme Court would be completely closed from 10:30 am on Sunday (May 29). The gate of the shrine will be open all the time. The mosque gate adjacent to the Jazz Sports Complex will be open from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. The exit (exit gate) adjacent to the Matsya Bhaban and adjacent to the Bangladesh Bar Council can only be reached through the exit gate. No vehicle will be able to enter through that gate.

In addition, the Nyaya Sarani Gate (adjacent to the shrine of the three leaders) will be closed at all times. However, at the mosque gate adjacent to the sports complex, a small side entrance is always open for the worshipers to enter. That will continue.

Last Thursday (May 26) at noon inside the Supreme Court in front of the lawyers' association building Chhatra Dal-Chhatra League chase-counter chase, fights and car vandalism took place. Later that day, the administration held an immediate meeting with the leaders of the Bar Association on the security of the Supreme Court. The meeting decided to strengthen security from Sunday (May 29).
