SUST-JU SUST Vice Chancellor apologizes to JU students
Dhaka, January 24: Vice Chancellor of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology Professor Farid Uddin Ahmed has apologized for the 'ugly' remarks made against the students of Jahangirnagar University. On Monday (January 24) at around 12 noon, he called JU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Farzana Islam and apologized.
A press release issued by the Public Relations Office of Jahangirnagar University said, "Professor Farid Uddin Ahmed, Vice Chancellor of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology has sincerely apologized for his remarks and apologized."
On his mobile phone, SUST Vice-Chancellor JU Vice-Chancellor Prof Farzana Islam said, "Her speech has been edited and disseminated through social media. This has created anger in the minds of the students of Jahangirnagar University. At the same time, all concerned including Jabir teacher were shocked. He has realized this. He hopes that progressive students and teachers of Jahangirnagar University will forgive him."
It may be mentioned that recently an audio clip of Farid Uddin Ahmed, Vice Chancellor of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology was spread through social media. In the audio, it is heard that SUST Vice Chancellor has insulted the female students of Jahangirnagar University. "No one wants to marry girls of Jahangirnagar University easily," she said. The JU students were outraged by this incident.
