Bangladesh Terrorists Terrorists snatch away two death penalty facing criminals from court
Dhaka, November 20, 2022 : Militants snatched away the two convicts sentenced to death in the case of the murder of publisher Faisal Arefin Dipan by spraying them in the eyes of the police from the lower court of Dhaka. The incident happened on Sunday (November 20) around 12 noon in the premises of the Chief Judicial Magistrate's court in Dhaka.
The two absconding accused are Mainul Hasan Shamim and Abu Siddique Sohail. Shamim's house is in Madhavpur village of Chatak in Sunamganj. Sohail's house is in Vetoshwar village of Aditamari in Lalmonirhat. Checkposts have been set up in different parts of the capital to catch them, police said.
On Sunday, they appeared in Dhaka's counter-terrorism tribunal in a case of Mohammadpur police station. This incident happened on the way to take them to the toilet after the attendance. Dhaka Metropolitan Detective (DB) Police Chief Harun R. Rashid confirmed the matter. He said that four people on two motorcycles came and sprayed the eyes of the police and took away the accused. They are convicts sentenced to death in publisher Deepan's murder case. Efforts are underway to arrest them.
On February 10 last year, the court sentenced eight people, including Major Syed Ziaul Haque Zia, who was expelled in the murder case of Faisal Arefin Dipan, the publisher of Jagriti Prakashani. Besides, each person is fined 50 thousand rupees.
Those sentenced to death are- Exiled Major Zia, Akram Hussain, Mainul Hasan Shamim alias Samir alias Imran, Abdus Sabur Samad alias Sujan alias Raju alias Saad, Khairul Islam alias Jamil alias Jisan, Abu Siddique Sohail alias Shakib alias Sajid alias Shahab, Mozammel Hussain alias Simon alias Shahriar and Sheikh Abdullah alias Zubair alias Zayed alias Jabed alias Abu Omayer. Among the accused, Zia and Akram are absconding.
On October 31, 2015, miscreants hacked Faisal Arefin Dipan to death at Jagriti Prakashani's office in Shahbagh's Aziz Super Market. On that day his wife filed a murder case at Shahbag police station.
