Dhaka, August 29: RAB Director General Chowdhury Abdullah Al Mamun said that it is playing a relentless role in drug eradication.

"The drug problem was not created in a day, so it cannot be eradicated in a short period of time. This requires a prolonged operation. But the current situation of Cox's Bazar is much better than before. Law and order forces and all citizens of the country should work together to stop the demand and supply of drugs, and that's why RAB is working tirelessly," he said these things at a workshop titled 'Renaissance: Say no to crime' on Monday (August 29).

He said, "RAB has also played an important role in suppressing terrorists, pirates and militants. The Sundarbans have been declared bandit-free on the orders of the Prime Minister. The country is now militant-free. Due to this, Bangladesh is a role model to the world in combating militancy. Also, RAB members are reaching the places where various crimes including terrorism are being committed."

RAB DG said, "Not only raids, criminals are brought back to normal life through various action plans. Many of the militants have been brought back to normal life. Due to which Bangladesh is known today as a role model in suppressing militancy. Similarly, the campaign to build a drug-free society in bordering Cox's Bazar is multi-faceted. The action plan is being implemented."

At this time, RAB-15 captain Lt. Colonel Khairul Islam Sarkar, Superintendent of Police of Cox's Bazar Mahfuzul Islam, Additional Superintendent of Police of Tourist Police Md. Rezaul Karim, Director of Hotel Simon Mahbubur Rahman and others were present.
