Dhaka, September 19, 2021: The residential hall for honors fourth year and master's students of Dhaka University will be opened on October 5.

Saturday (September 18) afternoon, the University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Md announced the decision. The decision was taken at an emergency meeting of the syndicate chaired by Akhtaruzzaman. This information has been given in a press release sent from the public relations department of the university. Besides, it has been decided to open the university library from September 27.

Students who have received at least the first dose of Covid-19 vaccine in the fourth year of Honors and Masters will be able to use the library and go to their respective halls by showing the vaccine card or certificate and valid university identity card to the concerned authorities in compliance with hygiene and standard operating procedures. The decision was taken on the recommendation of the Provost Standing Committee and the Academic Council.

It further said that the concerned students will be able to use the central libraries, science libraries and seminar libraries of the departments or institutes on September 26 from 10 am to 5 pm. Concerned residential students will be able to get up at their respective halls from 8 am on October 5. Various service officers or employees, including students, have been asked to bring vaccination certificates.

It was further said that as per the decision of the syndicate meeting, there will be banners / festoons in the visible places of every residential hall and academic building of the university to raise health awareness. Subject to vaccination, respective residential halls will be opened for Honors first, second and third year students in phases.

Residential halls will not be crowded as before and no so-called 'public rooms' will be kept. Only regular residential students will be accommodated in accordance with the hygiene rules. The meeting sought the cooperation of all concerned including active student organizations to maintain a conducive learning environment in the hall and campus.

Mentioning that it has been decided to start physical class activities after 100% students are vaccinated, the notification said that the date of physical class activities will be fixed after 100% students of the university come under vaccination program.
