Own Correspondent, Dhaka, 9 August 2023: After handing over 22 thousand 101 families new houses with land, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said, "We have done the initial cooperation. It is your responsibility to build a livelihood for the rest of your life. We want you to improve your condition and lead a better life from here."

The prime minister said these things while handing over the houses in different upazilas of the country through video conference from Ganobhaban on Wednesday. In the morning, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina attended a virtual ceremony in three upazilas from her official residence Ganabhaban and handed over land along with houses to the beneficiaries.

The Prime Minister directly interacted with the beneficiaries of the Barasat Sonar Bangla Palli Asharyan Project in Terkhada Upazila of Khulna District, Chakla Asharyan-2 Project in Bara Upazila of Pabna and Amanullahpur Asharyan Project in Begumganj of Noakhali.

The Prime Minister said, "I have lost my parents and siblings. I came in 1981 and found the people of this country as my own. I found my lost parents and siblings among them. I have nothing else to gain. I am working to change the fate of the people of this country. The poor, helpless, landless and homeless. Giving the family land and a new house."

She said, "This work was started by the Father of the Nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. He did it in the Poragachha of Laxmipur. We are continuing his work now. My father is no more, even the man who was tasked with the responsibility of executing this project, farmer leader Abdur Rob Serniabat, isn't alive today. Surely my father is watching all these from jannat and is getting happy."

"We want not one person to be feel neglected. My Father loved these people the most," PM Hasina said.

While thanking those who were involved in the Asharyan-2 project, the Prime Minister said, "You have done many impossible things including rescuing land and building houses. I thank you and thank you."

Through the transfer of 22 thousand 101 houses, 12 more districts became homeless and landless. In the meantime, 123 more upazilas of 41 districts were declared homeless and landless under the Asharyan-2 project. As a result, the total number of upazilas will be 334 and with these 12 districts, the total number of completely homeless and landless districts will be 21.
