Dhaka, March 3: In the Revised Annual Development Program (RADP) for the current financial year, 442 projects have been approved for completion. Allocation has also been made in RADP as per the demand of the concerned ministries and departments for completion of the projects. Therefore, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has directed to complete these projects within the remaining four months of the financial year.

The Prime Minister gave final approval to the RADP for the current financial year at a meeting of the National Economic Council (NEC) on Tuesday (March 2). During the RADP approval, 442 projects were directed to be completed in the remaining four months, said Planning Secretary Mohammad Zainul Bari.

According to sources, 381 projects were scheduled for completion in the original ADP of the current financial year. Of these, 379 were investment projects and two were technical assistance projects. In the approved RADP today, 442 projects have been finalized for completion in this financial year.

After the NEC meeting, Secretary Zainul Bari said, "442 projects are scheduled to be completed this financial year. We have been able to allocate funds to these ministries and departments as per the demand. Therefore, the Prime Minister directed that the projects must be completed. Time will not be extended."

Asked what would happen if the concerned ministries and departments could not complete the projects scheduled for this financial year for any reason, Planning Secretary Mohammad Zainul Bari said, "There are 442 projects to be completed in this financial year. The ministries / departments have said they can complete it. That is why they have asked for money. We have given. Commitment they have made. Discipline must be given. If for some reason it is not implemented, if their request is acceptable, then it is likely to come in the next ADP. But we will say that They will be able to implement them."

The secretary said, "We have proposed that the projects that the NEC is scheduled to complete in the future have to be completed that year. To extend a project, the proposal has to start six months in advance. There are three or four months. There is time. So there is no chance of extending the duration of the projects to be completed."
