The toll collection at Bangabandhu Bridge is around Tk 3 crore in one day

Dhaka, July 18, 2021: A record number of transports have crossed the Bangabandhu Bridge.

About 34,000 vehicles have crossed the country's largest bridge in the last 24 hours. The toll has been collected about three crore rupees.

According to the Bangabandhu Bridge Authority, 33,912 transports of buses, trucks and other vehicles crossed the Bangabandhu Bridge in 24 hours from 8 am on Friday (July 18) to 8 am on Saturday (July 18). The toll has been collected 2 crore 92 lakh 64 thousand 600 rupees.

Ahsanul Kabir Pavel, executive engineer of the Bangladesh Bridge Authority's Bangabandhu Bridge site office, said the toll on the east side of the bridge was Tk 1,48,5,110 against 16,513 vehicles. Toll has been collected at the cost of Tk 1,48,69,690 against 16,399 vehicles west of the bridge.

The executive engineer said a record amount of transport had crossed the bridge in the last 24 hours. The toll collection will be more in the amount of transport that is being crossed even today.
