Dhaka, August 9: HSC and equivalent exams are starting from August 17. SSC candidates from different parts of the country including the capital are agitating for four demands, including the postponement of the exam.

Regarding these demands of the students, Education Minister Dr. Dipu Moni said, "When we were children, we also demanded to postpone the exams so that we could prepare better. But actually it is absurd. One of the demands that the students are agitating for this time is the cancellation of ICT exams. For them, the exam will be of 75 marks instead of 100 marks. Practical will carry 25 marks and written part will carry 50 marks. There will be 30 marks in the written part and 20 marks in the MCQ part. One issue has been resolved. Demand not to take test during rest of dengue. Separate instructions have been given in educational institutions about dengue. By following these, hopefully no student will face any problem. Other claims are not acceptable. We hope they leave the movement and sit down at the reading table and test well."

Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni said these after the 'National Monitoring and Law and Order Committee meeting on HSC and equivalent examinations' at the International Mother Language Institute in the capital on Tuesday (August 8) afternoon.

Meanwhile, on the occasion of HSC examination, coaching centers will be closed for 43 days from August 14 to September 25, the education minister said. He said that all the coaching centers will be closed in order to conduct the examination in an environment free from rumors of question paper leaks and cheating.
