Own Correspondent, Dhaka, August 30: Awami League presidium member and Agriculture Minister Dr. Abdur Razzak said that there will never be a food crisis in the country in the future.

He said these while addressing as the chief guest at the prayer and discussion meeting organized by Diploma Krishibid Institution on the occasion of National Mourning Day at Sech Bhaban Auditorium on Manik Mia Avenue in the capital on Monday (August 29) afternoon.

The Agriculture Minister said that it is very challenging to ensure the food security of 16.5 crore people in the country. The current government has adopted a multifaceted plan to face this challenge. Cultivation of highly productive new varieties Bri-88, 89, 92, and Bangabandhu rice-100 instead of the old less productive rice varieties Bri-28 and 29 is in progress. By implementing those, additional food demand will be met in the future.

The minister said that Ziaur Rahman had divided the nation. Without him, this would never have been possible. Zia was power-hungry. He had no ideals. Although he participated in the liberation war, the spirit and ideals of the liberation war did not enter into his thoughts and consciousness, and Zia did not accept the liberation war ideals either. For that, Zia established the anti-independence forces in this country throughout the society and wanted to take the country back to the style of Pakistan.

He also said that anti-independence forces are still ravaging society. They oppose the independence of the country whenever they get a chance.

Dr. Abdur Razzak said that various conspiracies are going on to destroy the country. BNP-Jamaat, anti-independence forces, and some intellectuals are wishing the country to go bankrupt all day long. If they go bankrupt, they will come back to power by creating anarchy - this is their wish. But their dream will not be fulfilled.
