Dhaka Airport Third terminal of Shahjalal airport to be inaugurated in October
Dhaka, February 8: Construction works of the third terminal of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport is 60 percent completed. The magnificent terminal building is now visible. It will be inaugurated in October this year. At present, the interior decoration of the terminal building and the installation of various types of equipment are going on.
Minister of State for Civil Aviation and Tourism Md. Mahbub Ali said this in a press conference after inspecting the passenger services and various activities of the current Terminal 1 and 2 of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport and the progress of the construction of the third terminal on Tuesday (February 7).
The State Minister said that according to the directives of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, various development works including increasing the strength of runways, construction of new terminal buildings, modernization of security systems are going on at all airports in Bangladesh to increase passenger service and ensure safe flight operations. Truly, under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, a silent revolution of development has been achieved in the aviation sector of Bangladesh.
He said that due to the infrastructural limitations of the current terminal, we cannot provide the desired service to the passengers, but we have constant efforts to improve the quality of service. The Ministry and the Civil Aviation Authority are constantly monitoring the operations of the current terminal to ensure that no passengers are harassed anywhere in the airport. After the inauguration of the third terminal, passengers will get international quality services as the infrastructural constraints are removed.
