Own Correspondent, Dhaka, 22 March 2024: The rate of Sadaqatul Fitr in the year 1445 Hijri has been fixed at a maximum of Tk 2,970 and a minimum of Tk 115 per person. The decision was taken at the National Fitra Determination Committee meeting held at the Islamic Foundation Baitul Mukarram meeting room at 11 am on Thursday. The meeting was presided over by the President of National Fitra Determination Committee and Khatib of Baitul Mukarram National Mosque Hafez Mufti Maulana Mohammad Ruhul Amin.

It was unanimously decided in the meeting that according to Islamic Shariah, Fitra can be paid by any of the products like flour, barley, raisins, dates and cheese.

If Fitra is collected through wheat or flour, the market value of 1 kg 650 grams will be 115 (one hundred and fifteen) taka. 400 (four hundred) taka if collected by barley, 2 thousand 475 taka if collected by dates, 2 thousand 145 taka if collected by raisins and 2 thousand 970 taka if collected by cheese. These Fitras are fixed on the basis of the market price of flour, barley, dates, raisins and cheese collected from all parts of the country. Muslims can collect Sadaqatul Fitr from any of the above products or its market value according to their ability. Note that the local retail market prices of the above products may vary. Accordingly, even if payment is made at the local rate, Fitra will be levied.

The meeting was attended by Chief Mufti Muhammad Mahmudul Hasan of Qaderia Tayyebiya Kamil Madrasa, Muhaddis Mufti Abdus Salam of Jamia Shariat, Khatib Mufti Maulana Arif Uddin Maruf of Circuit House Jame Masjid, Director of Islamic Foundation Dr. Syed Shah Emran, Md. Anichur Rahman Sarkar, Mufti Maulana of Islamic Foundation. Muhammad Abdullah, Mufassir of the Islamic Foundation Dr. Maulana Muhammad Abu Saleh Patwari, Senior Imam of Baitul Mukarram National Mosque Hafez Maulana Mufti Md. Mizanur Rahman and prominent ulama-keram were present.
