Dhaka, September 9: Bangladesh will mourn the death of Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom for three days (September 9, 10 and 11) from Friday. On Friday (September 9), Chief Information Officer Md. Shahenur Mia said. He said, the government has announced three days of mourning from today for the death of Queen Elizabeth II of Britain.

The national flag will be at half mast on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

The Cabinet Department issued a notification declaring three days of state mourning. It is said that the government has decided that Bangladesh will observe three days of national mourning from September 9 Friday to September 11 Sunday due to the death of British Queen Elizabeth II, a true friend of Bangladesh.

The notification also said that on this occasion, the national flag will be flown at half-mast in all government, semi-government and autonomous institutions and educational institutions and Bangladesh missions abroad and special prayers will be organized for the peace of his departed soul from Friday to Sunday.

Queen Elizabeth II, the longest-reigning monarch of the British Empire, died Thursday afternoon local time at Balmoral Castle in Scotland. She was 96 years old. She was sitting on the throne of Britain for 70 years of his life. This year marks the 70th anniversary of his accession to the throne. Queen Elizabeth II has been staying at Barmoral Castle in Scotland since last July.
