Question Paper Leak | Bank Exam Three more nabbed for leaking banking exam question papers
Dhaka, November 12: The Dhaka Metropolitan Detective Branch (DB) Tejgaon Division has arrested three more people, including a senior officer of Janata Bank, on charges of leaking question papers of banking exams for job at five state-owned banks.
The arrested are Emdadul Haque Khokon, senior officer of Janata Bank, Sohail Rana and AB Zahid, a former student of Dhaka College.
Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (ADC) Mohammad Shahdat Hossain Soma, team leader of Tejgaon Zonal Team, confirmed their arrest on Thursday (November 11).
He said they were arrested during a raid in the capital on Wednesday (November 10) night. A total of eight people were arrested for leaking question papers.
Meanwhile, the recruitment examination for the post of officer (cash) of 5 banks held by Bangladesh Bank under the Bankers Selection Committee on November 6 has been cancelled. Bangladesh Bank Spokesperson and Executive Director Md. Sirajul Islam said this on Thursday.
Besides, examinations for the posts of Senior Officer (IT) of Sonali Bank and Bangladesh Development Bank and Assistant Database Administrator of Janata and Sonali Bank have also been postponed. The examination for the post of Senior Officer (IT) was scheduled to be held on November 13 (Saturday) and the examination for the post of Assistant Database Administrator was to be held on November 20 (Saturday).
Earlier, on November 6, 1,16,427 job seekers took part in the examination held against 1,511 posts from 3:00 to 4:00 pm. After the examination, many of the candidates complained of question paper leak, but at first Bangladesh Bank denied it. Eventually that recruitment test was cancelled.

Examinations for the posts of Senior Officer (IT) of Sonali Bank and Bangladesh Development Bank and Assistant Database Administrator of Janata and Sonali Bank have been postponed.
On Thursday (November 11) evening, the written examination for the two posts of these three banks was temporarily suspended, said the spokesperson and executive director of Bangladesh Bank Md. Sirajul Islam.
He said the two examinations of the three banks of the Bankers Selection Committee have been postponed due to unavoidable reasons. However, an explanation has been sought from Ahsanullah University regarding last Saturday's examination. The next decision will be taken after receiving the answer.
According to Bangladesh Bank sources, the examination for the post of Senior Officer (IT) was scheduled to be held on November 13 (Saturday) and the examination for the post of Assistant Database Administrator was scheduled to be held on November 20 (Saturday). The next schedule of the examination will be published on the website and media of Bangladesh Bank in due course.
