Transfer of 101 BGP members to Teknaf who took refuge in Ghumdhum

Own Correspondent, Dhaka, 9 February 2024: BGB has shifted 101 BGP members who took refuge in Bandarban's slums to Teknaf's Hnila. They were taken from Tumbru Government Primary School in Ghumdhum Union on Thursday afternoon.

According to local sources, there is currently a conflict between the government junta forces and the rebels inside Myanmar. Unable to withstand the insurgents in the conflict, 113 BGP members left the country and took refuge in Bangladesh through the Ghumdhum border.

Later they were sheltered at Tumbru Government Primary School under the supervision of BGB. One hundred and one of them were taken to Hnila in Teknaf under the supervision of BGB.

Bandarban Superintendent of Police Saikat Shaheen confirmed the matter to Jago News and said that 101 BGP members staying at Tumbru Government Primary School were taken to Hnila.
