Transit will be signed with Bhutan this month

Dhaka, 12 March 2023 : Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi said that a transit agreement will be signed with Bhutan, a neighboring country of Bangladesh, this month.

This information was given by Tipu Munshi after a meeting with the Commerce Minister of Bhutan at the Bangabandhu International Conference Center (BICC) on Saturday. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the three-day summit. Besides, the prime minister also inaugurated the 'Best of Bangladesh Expo', one of the attractions of the summit.

Tipu Munshi said, "I will go to Bhutan on March 21, and the agreement will be concluded at that time. Before this, the transit agreement with Bhutan will be finalized in the next cabinet meeting."

Besides, we have also agreed to two proposals from Bhutan regarding the river route. We have very good relations with Bhutan. Although Bhutan is a small country, they are always positive about us.

The Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI), the country's apex organization of businessmen, organized this summit on the occasion of celebrating 50 years of establishment.

Ministers of seven countries including United Kingdom, Saudi Arabia, China, Bhutan, United Arab Emirates, CEOs of 12 multinational companies and more than 200 representatives of foreign investors and business leaders from 17 countries participated in the summit.
