Dhaka, December 29: Shyam Sundar Sikder, Chairman, Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC), has hinted at timely changes in the telecommunication transmission service, including resolving the issue of hanging of the capital, fixing tariffs for NTTN operators, improving mutual relations between NTTN and ISP operators.

He assured to take necessary steps to address the existing problems in the sector at an exchange meeting with Nationwide Telecommunication Transmission Network (NTTN) operators organized by the Engineering and Operations Department at the Commission's main conference room on Monday (December 28) afternoon.

Senior officials of BTCL, Bangladesh Railway, Power Grid Company of Bangladesh (PGCB), Fiber at Home Limited, Summit Communication Limited and Bahan Limited, which are currently active in the country, presented various aspects and solutions related to the transmission of their respective organizations.

At the meeting, the operators demanded to update the guidelines and strengthen regular monitoring in determining the sustainable pricing of NTTN services in the capital, determining the scope and scope of work of the licensees of the concerned under BTRC.

According to the BTRC, a committee is already working on the initiative of the Department of Posts and Telecommunications to determine the tariff of NTTN. They are therefore urged to conduct their activities responsibly in accordance with the existing guidelines and to maintain a relationship with the dependent operators and licensees.

Shyam Sundar Sikder said, ‘I will sit down with all the operators gradually. Their problems are being identified, they can be identified step by step by the commission and timely effective solutions can be given. I believe that with your cooperation, I will be able to take this sector to a better level than it is now. '
