Dhaka, January 11: Two cases have been filed against former mayor Saeed Khokon for making defamatory remarks against Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) mayor Barrister Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh. Two cases were filed in the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Rajesh Chowdhury on Monday (January 11). The plaintiff in one case is Kazi Anisur Rahman. The plaintiff in the other case is Advocate Md. Sarwar Alam.

Earlier in the morning, Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) mayor Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh told reporters that he would file a defamation suit against former mayor Saeed Khokon.

Through such activities, the mayor has lost his eligibility for the post of mayor in accordance with Article 9 (2) (h) of the 2nd chapter of Part 2 of the Tapas City Corporation Act, 2009. "

Plaintiff Advocate Md. Sarwar Alam mentioned in the case that the accused Saeed Khokon participated in the human chain program of the evicted traders of Fulbaria Market in front of the National Eidgah Gate between 11am and 1pm last Saturday and said in his speech, By the way, I will tell him that it does not suit him"

The complaint further states, "Last Sunday, the statement of the accused Saeed Khokon was published in various headlines in the national newspapers and electronic media and social media of Bangladesh."

The plaintiff said, "If the plaintiff appeared at Shahbagh Police Station at 5 pm on Sunday and wanted to file a statement, the police station authorities advised him to file a petition in the court without filing a statement. I beg you to keep it."
