Dhaka, September 24: Two passengers were stabbed to death on the roof of a Dewanganj-bound Jamalpur commuter train leaving Dhaka. Another person was injured in the incident. However, the police could not immediately identify the victims.

The snatchers boarded a train from Gafargaon station on Thursday night (September 23), police said. The robbers stabbed three people at around 10:30 pm and went down near Kewatkhali overbridge with mobile phones and cash.

Mymensingh Railway Police Station OC Mamun Rahman confirmed the matter to Jago News. When they were taken to the hospital, the doctor on duty declared the two dead.

Citing injured Rubel Miah, he said some snatchers climbed on the roof of the Dewanganj-bound Jamalpur commuter train from Gafargaon station. At that time, they obstructed while snatching cash along with mobile phone from three passengers on the roof. The robbers then stabbed the two in succession. Later, they also stabbed Rubel Mia.

He added that before the train could reach Mymensingh station, the attackers got down near Kewatkhali overbridge with mobile phones and cash. Later, when the train reached Jamalpur, the three were taken off the roof and taken to hospital.
