Dhaka, September 12, 2021: Two drug dealers have been killed in separate 'gun battles' in Teknaf and Ukhia in Cox's Bazar.

During this time a large quantity of yaba and domestic weapons were seized. The incident took place in the early hours of Sunday (September 12) on the banks of the Nafnd River in Teknaf and on the border of Ghumdhum Rejumatli in Ukhia. Teknaf-2 BGB Commanding Officer Lt. Colonel Faisal Hasan Khan and Cox's Bazar-34 BGB captain Lt. Colonel Ali Haider Azad Ahmed gave this information.

Mohammad Shahjahan (28), son of Syed Nur of Dailpara area of ​​Ukhia Upazila Sadar, was killed in a gunfight in Ukhia. There are at least 10 cases of arms, robbery and yaba smuggling against him in different police stations.

However, BGB authorities have not yet confirmed the identity of the deceased in Teknaf.

The deceased is believed to be a Rohingya as he swam across the Naf River.

Teknaf-2 BGB captain Lt. Colonel Faisal Hasan Khan said BGB members were regularly patrolling the banks of the Nafndi in the Teknaf Nature Park Double Jodha area.

Suddenly the BGB members saw some people crossing the river in a boat and challenged them. When they fired at the BGB, the BGB also fired back. At one point, the two jumped into the river and headed for Myanmar.

One person was later found shot at the scene. Yaba and an LG are available in three sacks.

When he was taken to the hospital in injured condition, the doctor on duty declared him dead. After opening the sack, 3 lakh 40 thousand yaba was found. He also said that efforts are being made to confirm the identity of the slain drug dealer.

Cox's Bazar 34 BGB captain Lt. Colonel Ali Haider Azad Ahmed said there were at least 10 cases of arms, robbery and smuggling of yaba against the deceased in different police stations. He also said that further legal action is being taken in this case.
