US Ambassador didn't do the right thing: Information Minister

He said this in response to a question from journalists during an exchange of views with the newly elected council of the cable operator association 'Quab' at the ministry meeting room on Thursday (December 15) at noon.

He said that it would have been better if the US ambassador visited the intellectual memorial on December 14. I don't know who advised him to go to his mother's house, it was not right. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs did not know.

Those who advised him to go to someone's house did not do well. On hearing that he was gone, about 50 workers of the Mother's Kanna organization wanted to give a memorandum. Those in charge of security didn't give a chance. If he had listened to them, there would have been no debate.

The information minister said that those who took the ambassador criticized him heavily. The United States is our development partner. Relationship is good. This incident will not affect the relationship. I would request him to be careful about wrong advice.

He said that Wednesday, December 14 was Martyred Intellectuals Day. On this day, everyone paid their respects at the memorial. Sometimes foreign ambassadors also pay their respects there. It would have been great if the US ambassador had visited the martyred intellectual memorial on that day and paid tribute to the freedom of the Bengali nation and the sacrifices made by the Bengali nation to achieve this freedom. I don't know who advised him to go to the house of the coordinator of the organization called Mother Dak that day. Whoever gave this advice did not give the right advice. I think, the advice is your own decision. So he also really needed to focus on the day.
